BALLOON CARE & SAFETY

Thank you for choosing Up Up & Away Sevenoaks for your balloon display! To ensure your beautiful display remains in top condition, please follow these care instructions.

General Care
  1. Gentle Handling: Handle the display gently to avoid popping or deflating the balloons. Avoid pulling, squeezing, or twisting the balloons.

  2. Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the display away from sharp objects such as nails, branches, or sharp edges to prevent punctures.

  3. Limit Movement: Once the display is set up, avoid moving it to maintain its structure and prevent damage.

Temperature and Environment
  1. Indoor Placement: For optimal longevity, keep the balloon display indoors. Direct sunlight, wind, and heat can cause the balloons to expand and burst.

  2. Stable Temperature: Store and display the balloons in a cool, dry place. Extreme temperatures can cause balloons to deflate or pop.

  3. Avoid Fans and Vents: Keep the display away from ceiling fans, air vents, and other sources of moving air that can cause tangling or popping.

Specific Balloon Types
  1. Latex Balloons:

    • Float Time: Helium-filled latex balloons typically float for 8-12 hours. All balloons are treated with Hi-Float to ensure longevity.

    • Oxidation: High humidity can cause latex balloons to oxidize, making them appear matte. A controlled environment helps maintain their shine.

  2. Foil (Mylar) Balloons:

    • Longevity: Helium-filled foil balloons can last several days to weeks. Air-filled foil balloons can last indefinitely if properly sealed.

    • Weighting: Ensure helium-filled foil balloons are secured with weights to prevent them from floating away.

  3. Bubble Balloons:

    • Durability: Bubble balloons are more durable and can last for weeks if properly cared for.

Maintenance
  1. Cleaning: If needed, gently dust the balloons with a soft cloth. Avoid using any cleaning products or water, as these can damage the balloons.

Outdoor Use
  1. Monitor Weather: If your display is outdoors, keep an eye on the weather. High temperatures, wind, and rain can damage the balloons and hire items.

Safety
  1. Children and Pets: Keep the display out of reach of small children and pets to prevent choking hazards and accidental popping.

  2. Disposal: Once the event is over, carefully deflate the balloons. Dispose of latex balloons in the trash as they are biodegradable but should not be released into the environment. Foil balloons can be deflated and stored for future use.

By following these care instructions, you can enjoy your balloon display for as long as possible.
